Stopping Weekly Lessons

We're sorry to hear you're considering stopping lessons.

Before you submit the withdrawal form, please review the information below. These details affect tuition, scheduling, makeup lessons, and your student's weekly lesson time.

Submitting this form is required to stop future tuition charges. Verbal notice to a teacher or front desk staff member does not complete withdrawal.

Before You Withdraw

If you only need to miss a few lessons, staying enrolled may be the better fit.

While enrolled, you may still be able to:

Cancel individual lessons and receive eligible makeup credits under the current attendance policy.
Keep your regular weekly lesson time with your teacher.
Avoid paying a new registration fee if you return later.
Resume more easily after short-term schedule conflicts, travel, sports seasons, or temporary busy periods.

Once a student withdraws, their weekly time may be offered to another student. We cannot guarantee that the same teacher, day, or time will be available if you return.

Other Options to Consider

If lessons are not currently working well, withdrawing may not be the only option.

You may want to contact the office first if you would like to:

Try a different teacher.
Change lesson days or times.
Switch to a different instrument.
Discuss a short-term scheduling issue.
Ask about Summer Hold if your family is trying to keep a regular lesson time during eligible summer travel weeks.
Ask whether another approved option is available for your situation.

Withdrawal Notice

CSM requires at least 15 days' notice to stop weekly lessons.

To stop lessons at the end of the current month and avoid tuition for the following month, this form must be received by the 15th.

If this form is received after the 15th, the student may still have one or two lessons scheduled in the following month. Tuition may be charged for those lessons because they fall within the required 15-day notice period.

Families are responsible for tuition during the notice period whether or not the student attends.

After Withdrawal

After the final paid month ends:

The student's weekly lesson time will be released.
Future automatic tuition charges will stop.
Unused makeup credits expire according to the current attendance policy.
Returning later may require a new registration fee and a new teacher/time match.
